Summer scorchers: the best Vegas pool parties for cool day club fun

With Vegas’ famously early pool season (and hot temperatures!) now in full swing, there’s no way you can visit a Las Vegas pool without taking a dip. But if a leisurely, quiet float on a raft isn’t quite what you had in mind, a fist-pumping adult day club pool and endless frozen libations might be more your speed during Vegas’ lengthy pool season.

After all Vegas practically invented “daylife”—the idea that you take the exact same formula of a hot nightclub and translate it to daytime at a pool setting. We’re talking renowned famous DJs, bottle service, bungalow and cabana table service, and all the dancing, flirting, drinking and socializing you can pack into one day. Here’s a rundown of the best pools in Las Vegas for every kind of adult getaway.

Lap of luxury: Drai’s Beach Club • Nightclub at The Cromwell Ideal for: party people and jet setters

As Vegas’ latest crème de la crème party destination, it doesn’t get much hotter than Drai’s. The stunning beach club opened in May 2014 and has returned this season with live concerts, new menu items and a renovated pool deck. Located on the roof of The Cromwell, you’ll find the “it” spot for the beautiful party crowd to let loose day or night. It’s highlighted by panoramic views of the Strip, mountains and iconic attractions like the Fountains of Bellagio and Eiffel Tower that make for excellent photo ops. When the sun is shining, rent a daybed or bungalow for more royal-style VIP treatment, and dance and dip to the sounds of resident DJs. Sip on pitchers of pineapple mojitos or down cocktails such as the H20 Melon Lemonade.

We also suggest returning at night, when Drai’s is aglow from the Strip lights, LED screens and light shows. (There’s even a sexy Tuesday nighttime pool party called Yacht Club.) Pop bottles of champagne and purchase a fireworks package so you can set off your own sparklers. Tip: both daybeds and tables can be booked near the venue’s glass wall edge. Try to score one of these when you make a reservation, as they provide the best and closest views.

Boutique vibe: Venus Pool Club at Caesars Palace Ideal for: Couples and groups looking for a more mature adult pool

Hidden behind stone walls and tall palm trees, 10,000-square-foot Venus Pool Club is an adults-only, European style day club experience among the giant Garden of the Gods pool oasis at Caesars Palace. Nosh on gourmet eats, order an array of fruity cocktails, rent a chaise lounge or book one of the 14 cabanas for your party. They come with flat screen TVs and refrigerators, so sports lovers can watch the game and sun worshippers can work on their tans. Venus is open daily and slightly more chill than other day clubs, so if looking for an intimate, yet high-end retreat, this is it. Past visitors Ashley Tisdale, Jason Derulo, Kendra Wilkinson, and Ice-T and Coco think so, too. Various DJs spin Thursday through Sunday. Tip: Nobu Hotel guests and Total Rewards Seven Star guests receive complimentary entry all day.

On a budget: The Voo pool at Rio Ideal for: 21-and-up college crowds and twentysomethings

The Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino’s party venues have an electric energy and beautiful atmosphere while being easy on your wallet. Not only does the hotel feature a rooftop nightclub, VooDoo, the daytime energy heats up at The Voo pool. It’s Rio’s only 21-and-older pool boasts a waterfall feature, cabanas, daybeds, poolside spa treatments and DJ spinning every weekend. To switch things up, The Voo offers fun leisure games to play in between sips of your frozen margarita. Beer pong, ring toss, corn hole and ladder golf are available poolside, so you can dip, eat, drink, play and repeat. The flair bartenders at the nearby Cruzan Island Bar also put on shows throughout the day for a little extra scenery.

Center of the action: Planet Hollywood Pools Ideal for: bachelor parties or guy groups

Located on the 6th floor pool deck, Planet Hollywood Pools feature panoramic scenery and all the frozen drinks you can handle. Weekends get extra wild in the summer thanks to its “PHamous Bikini Contests.” Held on Saturday afternoons at 3 p.m., enjoy DJs spinning as bikini-clad female poolgoers take to the runway in hopes of winning more than $500 in cash and prizes. There are plenty of food and drink specials to go around, as rowdy, liquor-fueled party guests serve as the contest judges. For an elevated VIP experience any day of the week, book one of the more than 21 cabanas with personal attendants. You’ll enjoy the center-Strip location and views, bikini contest or not. This year, the pool has added another cool feature, the FlowRider, the first free standing wave in Las Vegas.

Tropical paradise: GO Pool at Flamingo Ideal for: bachelorette parties or girl groups

Flamingo’s lush tropical grounds tucked behind the hotel features two pools, one of which is the life of the party. The 21-and-up GO Pool gets especially raucous during its main events on Fridays and Saturdays. Both days feature DJs from noon-6:30 p.m., go-go dancers and an MC announcing specials as well as running the daily contests. The thrilling contests can range from limbo to push-ups and, yes, even booty shaking. (Winners get a free bar tab!)
