Leave it to one of America’s favorite entertainment icons to make an unforgettable Las Vegas arrival. Blonde bombshell Olivia Newton-John made her showstopping entrance perched on the back of the original 1949 Mercury Hell’s Chariot convertible from her iconic 1978 movie “Grease.”

The event welcomed the star as she begins her long-awaited Las Vegas residency, “Summer Nights” at Flamingo’s Donny & Marie Showroom on April 8. She recently spoke to us about how she chose Las Vegas and what to expect from the dynamic show.

The beloved songstress waved to fans as the car made its arrival from Las Vegas Boulevard into the Flamingo’s entrance at The LINQ district. She was accompanied by Chippendales dancers dressed at T-Birds and Jubilee showgirls donning Pink Ladies outfits. (No John Travolta sightings, unfortunately.)

She was presented with a “Key to the Las Vegas Strip” on behalf of Clark County by Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins. Las Vegas Host Committee Chairman Oscar Goodman gave her an official light bulb from the Welcome to Las Vegas sign on behalf of the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. Talk about hospitality!
